C.O.P.E. - CLIMBING AND RAPPELLING
Mike Fuson is the Greater Pittsburgh Council C.O.P.E./Climbing Chariman. Mike is recruiting and training members of this committee to oversee the C.O.P.E. (Challenging Outdoors Personal Experience) courses we have at Heritage Reservation and Camp Guyasuta.
He will also be working with a group of volunteers to promote the Climbing/Rappelling programs for the Council. This will include setting up training for unit level climbing activities.
The C.O.P.E./Climbing and Rappelling programs are presently recruiting staff. We currently have over 100 staff members certified in a variety of disciplines as to bring these programs to the youth of our council and communities. These are volunteer’s positions to work on our C.O.P.E. and Climbing courses. The committee is also looking for people that are interested in being certified as climbing/rappelling instructors for unit level activities. Volunteer staff can be anyone 16 years and older.
