The Greater Pittsburgh Council operates five year round camping facilities. Each of our properties are available for use by Cub Scout Pack, Boy Scout Troops, Venturing Crews as well as community groups and organizations. HERITAGE RESERVATION

Heritage Acorn

This reservation is the crowning jewel of Boy Scout facilities in the Northeast Region of the United States. Within Heritage there are three camps and several wilderness areas for use by all scouts. During the summer months, the camps are put into use as summer camps, offering two Boy Scout camp programs, and a nationally-renowned Cub Scout program at the third camp. Heritage Reservation also has a conference center and nine modern style houses available for rent by groups and scout units alike. The reservation's centerpiece attraction is it's 270-acre lake, providing plenty of room for boating, fishing, sailing, water-skiing and swimming. During the fall, winter and spring months, several pavilions and shelters are available for traditional camping, all reachable by vehicle. Located close to Nemacolin Woodlands ski slopes, Laurel Caverns,and Ohiopyle, Heritage is a centrally located camp, with plenty to keep any unit or group busy for a weekend or a week at summer camp.

CAMP TWIN ECHO


For over 75 years Camp Twin Echo, located just outside of the town of Ligonier, PA, has offered all of the accommodations of a modern camp, but with the allure and mystique of a camp deeply entrenched in tradition and past. The camp offers several modern and well equipped cabins, pavilion shelters, and Adirondack shelters for scout units, groups, or even family use. A small lake provides an opportunity for some fishing, and the camp has several hiking trails. One of the biggest attractions during the winter months is the nearby ski slopes,  Recent additions include a total renovation of the Twin Echo Program Hall.  Camp Twin Echo is a great place to stay for your Troop or Crew Winter skiing weekend.

CAMP ANAWANNA

 


This camp, located in Washington County, is only one hour and 20 minutes from Flag Plaza.  Anawanna offers some weekend cabins and is a great place for tent camping.  Fully equipped with pavilion shelters, running water, several cabins and  latrines, Camp Anawanna provides plenty of activities for even the largest of troops.  Fish the pond while you're enjoying a nice facility for your weekend unit event. Recent additions to Anawanna include two new Adirondack camping areas complete with fire places.

CAMP BAKER

Camp Baker


Situated one hour north of Pittsburgh, Camp Baker is a perfect place for a quiet weekend. Close to Raccoon Park, this facility offers great tent camping, two lean-to sites and stream fishing and is a perfect place for a Pack or Troop Picnic. Camp Baker now has new Adirondack sites for unit camping.

CAMP GUYASUTA

Camp Guyasuta


Located just outside of the city of Pittsburgh, Camp Guyasuta is a little bit of the country in the city.  This 168-acre facility is the place for day and overnight activities.   Several cabins and shelter area are available for rental, as well as a lean-to site and it is a perfect place for a special Pack meeting or Troop Ceremony.  Camp Guyasuta is a great place for picnics, Courts of Honor, a pool in the summer for BSA swim tests prior to camp and a convenient place to camp if you want to visit the city for a day.  

Recent additions to Camp Guyasuta include the McGinnis Education Center.  The start-of-the-art environmentally friendly conference center is the right place for Blue and Gold banquets, troop dinners, Eagle dinners and overnight conferences.  Meals and lodging plans are available for any need.  Guyasuta also includes the Rohr Family Challenge Center which includes a high and low challenge course, basketball courts, and volleyball court.  The Liken Environmental trail is also a new improvement that provides an educational hike along Guyasuta Run to a beautiful waterfall.
