Recharter Now!

Need help with your units “Charter Renewal”? Come join us on January 31 at Fairhill Manor Church from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon. All units should have received their recharter packet at the December Roundtable with the access code to allow online “internet rechartering.” Contact District Director Michael Maxwell if you did not get your packet. Recharter Day provides an opportunity to meet with commissioners, turn in the completed charter (don’t forget signatures and a check), and meet with our district operating committees to find out about all of the exciting program opportunities throughout the district this year. Remember, in order proceed toward earning “Quality Unit” status, must FIRST recharter ON TIME! Email Michael Maxwell at mmaxwell@bsamail to let us know you plan to attend.

Leader Roundtable – JOIN US!

Roundtable is a monthly training offered by the district. Every unit should take advantage of this opportunity to learn ways of enhancing the great program offered at your local unit level. RT is also a great chance to gather for fellowship with other leaders and pick up tips and other great ideas on how to improve your program. At least one adult from every unit should attend the Mingo Trails District Roundtable held on the first Tuesday from September through May of each month from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Fairhill Manor Christian Church, 351 Montgomery Ave., Washington.

Roundtable is “The Place to Be” each month for the latest information regarding district, council, and national programs and events. Come have some fun! If you have any questions please contact, Boy Scout RT Commissioner, Kevin Dolinar, 724-942-0388 or Cub Scout RT Commissioner, Karen Durham, 724-941-5696.

Centennial Quality Unit Award

2009 marks the third of the four year Centennial Quality Unit Award program. This program emphasizes the benchmarks of delivering a high quality program to our youth as we near the 100th anniversary of Scouting in the United States in 2010. The first step in working toward and achieving this recognition is to complete the “2009 Centennial Quality Unit Commitment form. The form can be found in the “Blown’ Smoke” section of the Mingo Trails District website. District Commissioners are ready to assist in completing this first step of the process. Contact your District Commissioner or District Director Michael Maxwell if you need assistance.
