Youth Protection Guidelines Online Training
Our highest priority is the safety and well-being of our youth members and participants. To help protect our young people, we are pleased to offer youth protection training online. This training is one part of a comprehensive youth protection training program that formally began in 1988. It is designed to help prevent child abuse in all of its forms—whether verbal, emotional, physical, or sexual abuse, or neglect.
We are proud to offer this training free of charge to all parents, teachers, coaches, social workers, and youth development leaders. This training comes in an easy-to-use format and will require about an hour to complete, and it could be invaluable to you and the youth in your life.
A separate version of Youth Protection Training (YPT) has been developed to suit the unique aspects of the Venturing program. The content of this training was developed to suit the unique aspects of the Venturing program - things such as coed crews and the age proximity of youth and adults in that program.
Users who complete either version will be considered "trained" in youth protection - it is not necessary to take more than one course.
Once you have completed the requirements you will recieve an email from the Boy Scouts of America that will include a training certiciate that you can print. If you do not recieve this email you may contact the Greater Pittsburgh Council to request a trainng certificate.
