GPC Venturing Training
There are many different trainings available to Venturers and Leaders. All new crew members, youth and adult, should watch the Venturing Fast Start Video as soon as possible after becoming involved.

All Venturers should participate in a Venturing Leadership Skills Course and watch the Venturing Specific Youth Protection tape "Personal Safety Awareness". After these two trainings are complete, Venturers, especially those who are officers, are strongly encouraged to attend Venturing Officers’ Leadership Training (VOLT).

Advisors, Associate Advisors and Committee Members are required to have attended New Leader’s Essentials and Venturing Specific Training (the former Venturing Adult Leader Basic Training) in order to be considered trained in their position. Other Adults are encouraged to attend as well. During the Venturing Specific Training the Youth Protection Videos will be shown. After a Leader has completed NLE and the Venturing Specific Training they are eligible to attend both Wood Badge and Powder Horn.

Youth Protection Orientation is also available online.   A separate version of Youth Protection Training (YPT) has been developed to suit the unique aspects of the Venturing program

It is recommended that Leaders of Outdoor Crews also complete Introdution to Outdoor Leadership Skills (IOLS)
