Announcing the NEW DATE for the BVD Mall Show!
(We couldn’t let the 100th year of BSA go by without a mall show)
Saturday, April 17th
All of the plans for the original Mall Show will remain the same.
The 1st and 2nd place Pinewood Derby winners for your Packs will race. The Troops can participate in the Pine Knot race. Bring you photos for the Scout & Scouter Photo Contest. We will have training sessions in the DCI classrooms through out the day and we will hold a special recognition service at 12:30. (See the attached Daily Schedule.)
The actual location of the tables and racetracks may change due the availability of space in the mall at that time. The committee will update all units at the April Roundtable Meeting.
Volunteers are needed to set up display tables and tracks on Friday, April 16th. We can meet in the DCI Hallway at 8:30 pm.
We welcome any new unit that would like to set up a display/activity table. Let us know ASAP and we’ll save a space for you. But it is assumed that all units that planned to participate in February will be participating in April. If this is not true, contact Pam Hupp and update your information. The Cub Scout Leadership in attendance at the January Roundtable meeting came to an agreement regarding the use of the colored wheels purchased at the Scout Shop. According to the 2010 Mall Show Pinewood Derby Rules, the derby car must consist of the parts provided in the original BSA kit. If a car has the colored wheels, they will be disqualified, but the cub will be allowed to change the wheels to one of the two approved "black" wheels provided in the 2009 or 2008 BSA Derby Kits. To avoid altering the car, the Packs are asked to inform their membership of this requirement and to uphold the guidelines in the Mall Show rules to ensure that the cars that arrive at the mall will qualify to race without modifications
