October Nuke Jam Schedule Hanout
BVD 2008 FALL CAMPOREE
Hookstown Fairgrounds
“NUKE JAM”
Sponsored by First Energy Nuclear Operating Company
Hosted by Troops 423 and 414
When: October 3-4-5, 2008
Where: Camping will be at the Hookstown Fairgrounds*. Activities will take place on Saturday @ the First Energy Beaver Valley Power Station. The Troops will be bussed from the Hookstown Grange to Beaver Valley Power Station. A box lunch will be provided on Saturday compliments of First Energy
A few important reminders about the Fall Camporee at the Beaver Valley Power Station on 10/4/08:
In order to attend the Camporee, all Units (Troops and Packs) must submit their signup sheets by September 19, to the 2 emails indicated on the signup form. The number of lunches that will be ordered will be based on the number of Scouts and Adults signed up on 9/19/08. Also, for this and GPC insurance reasons, siblings and other Non-Scouts just joining in for a tour are not permitted. You must be registered in advance.
Cub Scout Packs - Because of age limitations at the Power Station, only Webelos 2 and their Leaders can attend. A signup form indicating the number of Webelos 2 and adults must be submitted.
Units bringing more Scouts and/or Adults that were indicated as of 9/19/08 will cause a shortage of lunches. Please be Courteous to those who signed up in advance by not adding to the totals that are submit ted.
Boy Scout Troops - Again, if a Scout signs up, he must attend the Camporee. Merit Badge class sizes are limited due to classroom sizes and the number of counselors, and it is expected several classes will be filled to their limit. A Scout signing up, but not attending the class, will deny the opportunity for another Scout to earn a particular Merit Badge. The counselors will have a roster of Scouts and their Troop number to verify attendance. There will be no walk-ins, and signed blue cards are required at the beginning of the sessions Saturday morning.
Only Boy Scouts can take a Merit Badge Class. In an effort to equalize the class sizes, be sure to fill out the first column on the Merit Badge sign up sheet before filling out the second column. Thank you for your understanding.
The Unit contact person will be called to verify receipt of their registration form.
We are looking forward to you r att endance and participation.

Scoutmaster, Troop 423
