Goal: To provide beginning shooters with an introduction to the knowledge, skills and attitude
necessary to responsibly use a bolt action .22 rifle.
Where: The Beaver Valley Rifle and Pistol Club
Route 51, next to Brady’s Run Park
When: Wednesdays and Fridays, January - April, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
(indoor range)
Mondays and Fridays in May and June, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
(outdoor range)
Participants: Scouts ages 11 and up with written parental consent
Group size: maximum 12 (a troop may come more than once)
Cost: FREE
Equipment: all provided
Award: Scouts can earn the Jr. Shooting Team Patch from the National Shooting Sports Foundation.
(Generally can be completed in one evening.)
Merit Badge: Scouts can fulfill the BSA Rifle Merit Badge requirements.
(May be completed in 2 evenings if the scout picks up shooting skills easily.)
Instructors: Individuals working with the scouts are all NRA certified Rifle Instructors and some are also Rifle Merit Badge counselors
