BSA ADULT LIFEGUARD TRAINING*
*(This course is also open to all Scouts 15 years of age and any BSA Lifeguard partials from summer camp)
The Beaver Valley District Advancement Committee is offering training in becoming a BSA Certified Lifeguard to any Registered Adult Leader.
The course is more involved than the Red Cross Lifesaving due to the fact that boating activities will be covered. We will be training the lifeguards in all aspects of water activities involved in Scouting. The certification is good for three years, provided the lifeguard maintains a current CPR card.
Courses in CPR and First Aid will be offered if the group requires such. Water activities will begin on January 6th at the Beaver High School pool. Part of the training will include classroom training. Please call Mike Shovlin at 724.728.2070 or John Onuska at 724.643.8121 to sign up for the course, or for more information. It is highly recommended that each unit have a trained BSA lifeguard for their water activities.
To ask questions about swim dates, classes, and Merit Badges Requirements, we can be contacted by email at: [BVD_mbquest@yahoo.com]
THERE IS A $10.00 FEE FOR THE BSA-ADULT LIFEGUARD TRAINING
NOTE: We are guests of the Beaver High School; there will be no swiming classes if school classes are canceled (i.e. snow, swim meet, power loss, etc.) We must yield to all school activities.
