A Scout is reverent.
He is reverent toward God. He is faithful in his religious duties and respects the convictions of others in matters of custom and religion. To encourage members to grow stronger in their faith, religious groups have developed the following religious emblems programs. The Boy Scouts of America has approved of these programs and allows the emblems to be worn on the official uniform. The various religious groups administer the programs. Check with the religious organization directly or contact the Chartiers District Religious Relations Committee on how to obtain the curriculum booklets. Most religions have 5 booklets which are based on the Scout’s age and grade. Some religions have less, but all require each Scout to have their own booklet. Some religions require an adult mentor or counselor. Some religions require the adult to go through a training program prior to working with the youth on their religious emblems. Some religious emblems take one month to complete and some take up to two years to complete. On the average, most booklets will take about 3-6 months to complete.
