FALL ROUNDUP
All Packs, Troops, and Crews should be planning now for our Fall Roundup of new Scouts. Packs should be planning now for 2 nights in September to host a “Sign-Up” night for new scouts. Why 2 nights? Come on out to the Roundtable for all the details on this year’s plans. Troops and Crews should also be planning “Open House” nights as well. Bring your dates “in hand”. Ideally, a 3 week lead time for all requests for recruitment flyers is needed to properly conduct the distribution of flyers at schools and arrange “Boy Talks” to the boys at schools.
Include School Open House in your plans as a great “supplement” to your official Roundup nights. This is a great opportunity to meet with the parents and answer any questions about the scouting program in the area.
 Scout’s Honor Articles
Each issue of Scout's Honor is an opportunity for us to showcase events and activities in Greene County. Be sure to foward any items that you would like to have sumitted to our publicity chair, Melodee Hursey at kmhursey@alltel.net or District Executive, Michael Maxwell at Michael.Maxwell@Scouting.org. You can also reach Rob at 412-325-7977. |

 Friends of Scouting
Congratulations to all of our Packs, Troops, and Crews for helping the District achieve its “Family” Friends of Scouting goal this year. To date $5,135 has been pledged through this portion of our campaign. Overall the campaign stands at $13,641 (85.3%) toward our overall goal of $16,000. If you have not yet made your pledge of support to Scouting this year please take a minute to do so today. Thank you to everyone who has helped us toward our goal.
Roundtable
Roundtable is a monthly meeting open to all scout leaders. This includes all committee members, den leaders, assistant leaders and parents. It is also open to anyone interested in the scouting program in our local community. It is not just a coincidence that units that attend roundtable and participate in district activities are vibrant and healthy. Everyone wants to be part of a winning team and scouting is no exception. Roundtable attendance is a way to get resources, training and information. It is also a great way to promote your own activities. Please remember to make sure that your unit is represented at every roundtable. Postcards are being sent each month as reminders to attend. Roundtable is always held at the First Baptist Church in Waynesburg at 7:00 p.m. There is always a program focused on particular issues facing Packs, Troops and Crews provided by our Roundtable Commissioners. Contact our District Commissioner, Amanda O’Lear, to suggest topics that you would like to have presented at roundtable.

. Any information to be attended to web page: email Johnna McNett at dim@windstream.net

Remember!
The main reason boys join Scouting is to go camping.
