FRIENDS of SCOUTING
May and June are the final stages of FOS for our district and we continue to lead the way in the council. Our family phase is well over our $29,000 goal with over $35,000 raised so far. Thanks to all the Cubmasters and Scoutmasters who have done their part by scheduling those unit presentations with Holly and helping us reach our family campaign challenge. A special thanks to Holly Ammer and Jamie Uber for chairing the Family and the Community campaign. They gave up extra nights and lots of time and effort to help the district in 2009. Congratulations on an outstanding effort with Friends of Scouting!

THE IMPORTANCE OF CAMPING
Did you know that a Scout has a 75% greater chance of staying in Scouting if they attend some type of scout camp over the summer? Knowing those facts, why would you leave it to chance? Please do all you can to get your boys to camp! Many of the activities that we talk about in school presentations occur at camp so keep your youth excited by allowing them to experience our outstanding camps! |

Our Mission Statement: The Japeechen District will provide venues and activities within the Scouting program to the youth we serve by preserving moral and ethical choices through a trained and enthusiastic leadership.
