Each year, the Greater Pittsburgh Council, Boy Scouts of America serves more than 46,000 youth in southwestern Pennsylvania.  To manage the daily operations to enhance the delivery of services to these youth, the council maintains an annual operating budget of approximately $5 million.  Funds must be identified to address current activities, grow new programs and serve an ever growing, diverse pool of youth from across the region.  This year, we estimate it will take $99 to foster the mental, physical and moral values of one youth.  We need your support and commitment to help us continue to develop bold new activities that attract and retain youth.  To find out how you can help, please click on one of the topics listed below.

Who Pays for Scouting  The method of financing Scouting has been time-tested and proven effective because it involves different entities.

Friends of Scouting A full 15 percent of our annual operating support depends on the Friends of Scouting campaign. 95 cents per dollar received each year is returned directly to the communities we serve in the form of programs and services in support of packs, troops, crews and posts.

Popcorn  Imagine doing only one fundraiser each year and being able to fund your entire Ideal Year of Scouting!

United Way  The United Way provides approximately 15% of the council’s annual operating fund.
