2009 Spring Recruitment Plan

Calling all Packs!!

We are currently looking for Packs for our special, new, super, spring recruitment effort. The District hopes to find 8-10 Packs to participate in recruiting some new Tigers for the summer. This is what we will do for you:

  • Boy Talks in Kindergarten Classrooms
  • Spring flyers to catch excitement
  • Each new boy recruited gets a Bugsucker!
  • Each boy gets the opportunity to receive a brand new neckerchief slide!

Get your Tiger Dens started this summer and participate in the fun activities we have planned for them. Take some of the pressure off of your Activities Planner over the summer and let the Greater Pittsburgh Council do it for you

Special Summertime Activities!

  •  May 17th Kennywood Pinewood Derby Race! BUGSUCKER EVENT
  • June 14th Flag Day Celebration and Pirates Game!
  • June-July Day Camp!
  • August Safari at the Pittsburgh Zoo!

While attending each event, the new Tiger Cub will receive a patch. If they collect all 4 patches over the summer and return to the Pack in the fall they receive a free neckerchief slide for their uniform.

What is a Bugsucker? A Bugsucker is a fun toy that boys (and their parents too!) can use to aid in research of bugs, without ever having to touch one. The Bugsucker is reusable and promotes the “catch and release” philosophy of bug research!

If your unit would like more information about participation in this once-in-a-lifetime spring recruitment plan, please attend Roundtable or contact Joe Milharcic at Flag Plaza (412) 325-7935 or joe.milharcic@scouting.org
