To celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America and volunteer accomplishments, a councilwide reception for an expected 1000 volunteers will be held March 18, 2010 at Heinz Field in the West Club Lounge. The celebration will open with a tailgate reception at 6 p.m. The program feature beginning at 7:30 p.m. will be the presentation of the Silver Beavers and District Awards of Merit followed by a Scouting message from Jim Crawford, Past Council President and President of Clover Hills Foods.
The anniversary provides the opportunity for us to celebrate as a larger Scouting family. For the first time, Silver Beaver and Award of Merit recipients will be announced prior to the presentation, so that their families and friends will be able to attend. Let’s all be there and celebrate our volunteers together.
This event will be a great opportunity for us to join together as one large Scouting Family to celebrate 100 years of our great program and recognize volunteer accomplishments. Be certain to join us for this historic event. Be part of our history.
The cost of the event is just $20. The absolute registration deadline is March 15. Parking at the Carnegie Science Center is only $5 per car.
Field uniform is suggested, please wear any awards you may have.
